Crusader Kings 3’s Northern Lords flavour pack is out now. It’s a set of Norse and Viking-themed cosmetics and events for Paradox’s grand strategy game, and it’s relatively minor. The corner of the map revamped by Northern Lords is, as the expansion’s name suggests, the bit inhabited by the Norse cultures – aka the Vikings, for people like me who take perverse pleasure in insisting that Frankenstein was the name of the monster. Norse characters can pick from an armload of new hairstyles and beards, and wear historically appropriate clothing that even changes if you adopt a different culture or convert to a new religion. The shield for the Kingdom of Sweden, for example, bears a gold Thor’s Hammer if you form it as a pagan, instead of the more familiar coat of arms the Christian Swedish monarchs wore historically. And they’ve added some gorgeous new backgrounds, including a cozy longhouse, to serve as the set for feasting, fighting, and fratricide.
Paradox has meanwhile incorporated a variety of culturally unique units, such as berserkers, shieldmaidens, and traveling mystics. Among new interactions in the Crusader Kings 3 expansion are raising runestones and more family activities, such as snowball fights with children. Snow of course requires winter, and yes, winter is now fully depicted in the game, taking its toll visually and mechanically. One religious interaction includes the ability to hold a Grand Blót, a sacrifice of humans and animals to the Norse gods in exchange for improving piety and reputation with vassals.
In fact, pretty much all of Northern Lords’ content is there to facilitate deeper roleplaying. The Grand Blot, for example, is mechanically very similar to a regular feast with a ritual strangling thrown in for good measure. Ray-tracing receives a lot of hype for what it brings to World Of Warcraft
While modding websites remain popular ways for gamers to make changes to their favorite games, some fans decide to take their creativity to the next level. Talented players can recreate game assets in advanced game engines such as Epic Games‘ Unreal Engine. Unreal Engine will be recognized at the Annie Awards in April for the advancements in computer animation it has made possible, and game development teams aren’t the only people to put that to good use. eFootball PES 2021 of eEURO 2021 qualifiers has start
The qualifiers of the 55 teams for the finals of UEFA eEURO 2021, the competition that had take place on the virtual pitches of eFootball PES 2021, kick off March 15. The winner of the tournament will be announced on 10 July, one day before the UEFA EURO final. 2020, the competition postponed last year due to the pandemic. All qualifying matches will be streamed live on UEFA’s official YouTube channel.
As was the case for the competition’s first edition last year, with 55 countries involved, eEURO 2021 has the distinction of being the largest ever national team efootball tournament. The teams, divided into ten groups, will play each other twice in a ‘home and away’ format. Every encounter will consist of two 1v1 matches, with the aggregate score over the two games determining the outcome. The qualifying matches will be played across March and April.
The ten group winners will directly qualify for the final tournament in which 16 teams will take part. The ten runners-up will enter a playoff tournament that will be played on 10 and 17 May to decree the last six finalists.

The developer OddOneGames, known as Tree of Life, announced a new change of plans for its new game in development, Oddria. According to the developer, after participating in the Steam Games Festival, the team carefully evaluated the reception of the community and came to the conclusion that changes need to be made.

Epic Games is bringing a night at the movies right to Fortnite players’ homes
Epic Games is bringing a night at the movies right to Fortnite players’ homes with its own animated short film festival being broadcast through Party Royale.
Starting on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. ET, players can watch acclaimed animated short films around the world through the game’s shared virtual space as part of the Short Nite Film Festival. The total runtime for the compilation of short films is approximately 30 minutes and will run on a continuous loop for 24 hours before coming to an end on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. ET.
Among the 12 animated short films is Bench from director Rich Webber, which is currently long-listed for a BAFTA award. From BlueZoo Animation Studio, Lynx & Birds will be shown, as well as Jamille van Wijngaarden’s slapstick film about a pet bird and a curious cat, Catastrophe; and the Oscar-nominated film A Single Life from the writing and directing team of Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw.

There isn’t really any news on when Diablo Immortal will be coming out just yet
Diablo Immortal got a new trailer to show off more gameplay from Diablo’s first venture onto mobile platforms. The trailer was released during ChinaJoy 2020 alongside the start of pre-registrations for the game on iOS and Android devices, but those pre-registrations are only available in China right now. It’s one of the first looks we’ve seen at the game since last year’s BlizzCon when Diablo Immortal made a much smaller splash than it did the year before when its controversial debut took place.
This new trailer is in Chinese, but that won’t matter to Western audiences as it largely focuses on gameplay. We get to see each of the game’s classes in action, using their various abilities to cut through armies of demons and monsters.
Interestingly, we also get to see close-up, high-quality images of the various heroes. While it’s not quite up to par with PC standards, the visual style of these characters makes for a nice mix between the classic style of Diablo 2 and the more cartoony stylings of Diablo 3.
Aside from giving fans a closer look at Diablo Immortal‘s gameplay, which is largely reminiscent of Diablo III, the clip also provides brief introductions to the six different playable classes, also coming from the game’s PC predecessor, including the Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. As a little gem for Diablo II fans, Baal also makes an appearance, suggesting his return as an important — if not the main — antagonist in the game.
During some hands-on time with Diablo Immortal in 2018, the game felt like Diablo — albeit without the series’ heart. We liked the game more at BlizzCon 2019.
That was not the case of course, the reveal was a problem with messaging. At BlizzCon 2019 getting to play Diablo IV was – simply put – amazing. Getting to check out Diablo: Immortal was also cool, especially as a nice “yes, and” for those of us that don’t play mobile games. The controls at the time worked well, and the blend of shared-world co-op and instanced dungeons made sense. Plus, loot wise it didn’t look the gear and skill system was designed around microtransactions.
Unfortunately, there isn’t really any news on when this game will be coming out to mobile devices just yet. Presumably, the Chinese and Asian release is going to be coming first — China has a much stronger mobile market, after all. That said, the game’s official English website does indicate that it will eventually make its way West. Like most Blizzard games, we’ll probably get it when it’s done.

If you’ve been struggling to find a balanced formation in FIFA 21, look no further than the 4-2-3-1.
4-4-2 formation FIFA 21
The original formation and a good one to use this year too. Not quite in our top 5 as it just lacks that creative edge unless using the very top players. Good for keeping shape and strong in both defence and attack. Top players have liked it more this year.
Advantages: Solid and well spaced out across the pitch attacking and defending. 2 strikers.
Disadvantages: No designated defensive or attacking midfielder. Have to use player instructions.
4-1-2-1-2 narrow
The 4-1-2-1-2 narrow is arguably the best formation for making the most out of FIFA 21’s dynamic attacking system.
It features two strikers and a CAM, three of whom combine to wreak havoc on your opponent’s defence thanks to the quick one-twos you’re able to play in the attacking third.
The 4-1-2-1-2 (2) formation is incredibly narrow, so you’ll need to bring your full-backs into play in a bid to give your team some added width. This has its advantages and disadvantages.
The extra width allows you to stretch your opponent’s defence, which, in turn, gives your two strikers ample space to work with up-front.
However, it leaves you susceptible to counter attacks because your full-backs might be high up the pitch instead of their traditional defensive positions, even if you apply the ‘stay back while attacking’ instruction.
On that note, we recommend that you only use the 4-1-2-1-2 (2) formation if you’re very good at attacking – that way, you can focus on outscoring your opponents.
At the end of the day, you set your team up in a way that works best for you, but if you want to break out and try something else, you can do much worse than these four formations.
